Stereogum It’s been five years since LA psych-rockers Wand released Laughing Matter , their last proper studio album. Frontman Cory Hanson has been cranking out solo music since then, including last year’s evocatively titled Western Cum . This summer, Wand will open a few shows for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and they dropped a single called “Help Desk” a couple of months ago. Now, Wand have announced a new album that’s set to arrive this summer. more info

Macklemore Shares Pro-Palestine Protest Song “Hind’s Hall”

Stereogum It’s easy to make jokes about Macklemore, the white rapper from Seattle who blew up and scored a couple of #1 hits a decade ago. But whatever you think of his hits — or even his politics — Macklemore has shown himself to be the type of artist who can make actual political statements. As an independent artist, he’s free of the network of major-label honchos and managers that seems to be actively discouraging famous artists from saying anything about the slaughter currently happening in Palestine, and he’s just shared a new protest song called “Hind’s Hall,” delivered in solidarity with the people of Palestine and with the protesters who are trying to get American colleges to divest from Israel. more info

Watch Ariana Grande Perform “atch Kelly Clarkson Cover MetallicaInWatch Ar” Into You” For The First Time In Five Years At The

Stereogum Hey, the Met Gala was last night! That’s a thing that we all definitely care about, right? A whole lot of fancy, famous people got dressed up in fancy, famous clothes and got their pictures taken. This year, the theme was Sleeping Beauties, which is a little on the nose, especially given the pro-Palestinian protests that were happening nearby. But if you were famous enough to get an invite and if you were OK with the basic idea of being there and willing to get all dressed up yourself, then you got a surprise performance from Ariana Grande. more info

Live Review: Robyn Hitchcock, Philadelphia, PA, April 24, 2024

Magnet MagazineSuspended in a peculiar time—a palindromic date falling one year and a day after his most recent release, reflective, instrumental album Life After Infinity, and two months before his next artifact, memoir 1967: How I Got There And Why I Never Left, comes out—Robyn Hitchcock predictably ignored his immediate past and future at World Cafe […] The post Live Review: Robyn Hitchcock, Philadelphia, PA, April 24, 2024 appeared first on Magnet Magazine. more info

Moon Worm – “oK LeTs Go”

Obscure SoundFirst grabbing our attention last year with spacey single “Peace of Mind,” Moon Worm impresses with another hypnotic dreamy pop gem in “oK LeTs Go.” The latest track from the Madison, Wisconsin-based group, “oK LeTs Go” builds from rhythmic clamoring and hazy synth pads into a more expressive vocal soaring. A chillwave-friendly arsenal, invoking a warm nostalgia reminiscent of Washed Out, flows freely within the production. A starry-eyed convergence of twinkling guitars and lush synths enamor into the final minute, concluding “oK LeTs Go” with satiating impact. — This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the The post Moon Worm – “oK LeTs Go” appeared first on Obscure Sound: Indie Music Blog. more info
